  1. A point that rarely comes across in Biggleswade is that every English Town and Parish is required, by law, to hold an Annual Meeting between the dates of 1st March and 30th June (inclusive). This is not a Council meeting but a meeting of registered electors. This really is the important factor, councillors are required to be there to report to and respond to questions directed to them. So it is not good enough to simply say that the public will be welcome - it is after all their meeting and this should be made more evident and inviting. There should be active encouragement to participate, not a meagre passive invitation to attend. Prior to the meeting there could be an invitation for electors to submit questions for the agenda to ensure that the right information is prepared.

  2. I notice that the Council is advertising tonight's meeting in the Biggleswade Bulletin - but we haven't had our May edition delivered yet at home (Holme Court Avenue) - I picked mine up in the Library.

Has anyone else not received their May Biggy Bulletin yet?

I can't remember if the meeting was mentioned in the previous issue...

  4. The Biggleswade Bulletin is never delivered to us in Holme Court Avenue until late in the month. Sometimes not at all. I have complained but to no avail. The Council pay for that page. I download mine from the internet, not the Bulletin site which shows the latest edition as November 2010. Search and you will find. If you cannot find it send me an email at mason@shebra.freeserve.co.uk.

  5. Isnt it about time the town council changed the name of the building to Town Hall? The Old Court House may have been relevant just after changeover but I think it needs to move on now as it doesn't say anything about what the building is now. In any case ther'es already another Old Courthouse in the High Street.
