Every Parish must by law meet once a year at a public meeting known as the Annual Parish Meeting. In Towns this is more commonly referred to as the Annual Town meeting, or Town Assembly. The meeting is a meeting of the Town's Parishioners and not a meeting of the Town Council.
The Meeting provides all Parishioners with an opportunity to raise any issue of concern to the residents. It also affords members of the public an opportunity to learn about the work of the Town Council and to ask questions of the Mayor and other Town Councillors on matters of importance to the Town and within the remit of the Town Council. If a vote is taken on any matter raised at the Meeting, only those persons who reside within the Parish are permitted to vote.
The last available agreed minutes are for 26th May 2009. Link to these minutes.
