Play your part in recycling this Easter

Did you know that over Easter, residents in Central Bedfordshire will go through around 200 tonnes of chocolate? With the chocolate comes a LOT of packaging.

We are asking residents in Central Bedfordshire to recycle all of their Easter egg packaging including cardboard, plastic packaging and foil wrapping, as part of the councils commitment to increase recycling rates.

Central Bedfordshire produced less waste and recycled a huge 51.6% of waste produced in 2010/11 but the Council doesn’t intend to stop there as it aims to increase the recycling rate to 60% by 2020.

The Waste Minimisation Team at Central Bedfordshire would like residents to make an eggs-tra effort to recycling their Easter goodies.

On our website, you will find information on what goes in and what stays out of your recycling, what is classed as garden waste and what food waste is.

Thanks!
