London Road Retail Park redevelopment - exhibition 1st July

If like me you did not make it to the "exhibition" today, as I do not have time on my hands, as a recent comment suggested. I thought I would follow the link on the Biggleswade Chronicle web site:

If you cannot make the exhibition you can still view the proposals. Visit www.wygplanning.com/london-road-retail-park/index

You can also submit feedback on the website.

For whatever reason, the link does not work. I will try and find out why that is.

In the Central Bedfordshire Council press release of 23rd June it stated:

"Marks & Spencer have agreed terms to open a store on the Park…"

The indications are now that this is the current plan but M&S has not yet confirmed that it definitely intends to open a store. LXB Retail Properties (the owners of the site who are based in Jersey) are confident the plans could go ahead without M&S.

  2. Don't forget that the Consultants acting for LXB are making a presentation about the proposed development to the Town Council at its Planning Meeting this evening (Tuesday 12th) at 7pm.

    From the TC noticeboard:

A meeting of the Planning Committee will take place on Tuesday 12 July 2011 at the Offices of
Biggleswade Town Council, The Old Court House, 4 Saffron Road, Biggleswade commencing
at 7.00 pm in order to transact the undermentioned items of business.

    AGENDA
    1.APOLOGIES
    2.DECLARATION OF INTERESTS
    3.Presentation from LXB Properties,
    a.PUBLIC OPEN SESSION
4.PLANNING APPLICATIONS etc (see TC website for full list)

It's a shame that the agenda doesn't say anything more specific about what the presentation is about as some folk seeing the agenda may not make the connection between 'LXB properties' and the proposed London Road development.

Note that there is a public open session immediately after the presentation - I presume after members of the Council have had their say - it will be interesting to see how the Council responds... but I'm hoping here's a chance for townsfolk to say whether or not YOU support this development
