Did you know that Central Bedfordshire have a web site, where it seems you can express your views on practically anything they are responsible for.
CBC says : We have promoted the site quite a lot. It is on the home page of the council’s website (bottom of the page)
Its quite true it is but as usual with CBC if you start off with the home page:
go to the link "Lets Talk Together" you get:
you then work your way through the menus which include :
Partnerships / Vision & Priorities / Lets Talk / News / Meeting / Forums & Events / Discussion.
I could not find the link anywhere.
They go on to say : .... and it is in our residents magazine, News Central.
that's true it was in the last two issues.
They also say: We have also promoted the site with Town and Parish Councils and asked them to promote it with their residents too which many have done.
Well forget that one in Biggleswade.
Also : When we are running a consultation exercise , we actively promote it with residents when we talk to them but also through thorough press releases, posters, letters etc as we did with our work around the transport plan and as we are doing now with our work around the budget.
I must admit I have never seen it.
I have found a press release on CBC web site dated 8th June 2010,
but it appears it was meant for much softer issues, than the fiery debate on the budget that's going on, on the website at present
