Community Infrastructure Levy
The Council is consulting residents and businesses on its proposal to introduce a Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) on new developments within Central Bedfordshire.
CIL is a tax on new developments which the Council may adopt to fund new infrastructure needed to support growth including transport improvements; new schools; open space and community buildings. CIL is collected by the Council and applied per square metre of new development to most new buildings.
