Teenager Remanded in Custody
The 17 year old youth charged with using social media networks to ‘Encourage Others To Commit Burglary’ has been remanded in custody until Tuesday.
The youth, from the Stopsley area of Luton, was remanded in custody by Luton Magistrates Court this morning and will appear before Luton Youth Court on Tuesday.
The charge falls under Section 44 of the Serious Crime Act 2007.
Det Insp Ged McCarthy, who is investigating the case, said: “We have not had serious disorder in Bedfordshire but that is no reason to be complacent. All digital communications leave a trace somewhere and we are continuing to monitor the situation. If we discover other offences we will make further arrests. If anybody has information about people committing offences or encouraging others to do so, please do contact the police.”
