The English Defence League (EDL) has given notice of its intention to hold a demonstration in Luton on Saturday, 5 May. Subsequently, a counter-demonstration titled We Are Luton gave notice that it also intends to protest in the town on the same day.
Bedfordshire Police and Luton Borough Council are aware that people are concerned about the significant impact on normal life in the town, and are working closely together to help people go about their daily business as normal.
