Kitelands Recreation Ground - painting of swings

I understand that Biggleswade Town Council employees started painting the swings on Tuesday.

The problem was that they apparently did not made any attempt to use any sort of safety barriers or tapes, which is a basic commonsense safety procedure. I am told that children were standing underneath and looking up, whilst painting was in progress, as curious children do.

The painting continued on Wednesday and finished shortly after lunch and left with wet paint signs hanging off the uprights.

  1. Whilst playing with our grandchild on the swings in Kitelands Recreation Ground - now freshly painted! - a council employee was emptying rubbish bins.

He was taking the rubbish out of the black sack in each bin, with the "tongs" that are used to pick up rubbish from the ground. It took him quite a while "circling" the bins removing some rubbish. Would it not be better to replace the sack, bearing in mind residue from cans must run into the bottom. along with ice cream wrappers, remains of uneaten food, such as apple cores etc. Surely from a health point of view this cannot be right?

The old sack could then be used for the rubbish that is picked up from the recreation ground.

    Just a suggestion!
