Town Council Open Day

The idea of an open day would be to give the public a better idea of the work of the Town Council and its Councillors. Perhaps on a Saturday morning (September) open the building to the public to meet Councillors & staff.

Displays:      Court House history

                    New look to "Town Hall"

                    Work of the Council

                    Staff details and office opening times

                    Meeting dates

                    Involvement with CBC i.e.: issue of recycling bags etc

Make it a social event and send out invites to local groups & organisations plus advertise for all general public. Provide tea & coffee.

Members are asked to consider this idea.

Councillors agreed the idea and will set a date in September.

Councillor Steven Watkins, addressing himself to the Mayor, Councillor Tim Woodward, said he knew who had come up with the idea, but would the Mayor like to say. The Mayor said it was not his idea but he could not recall whose idea it was.
