Witnesses Sought To Attempted Robbery in Biggleswade

Bedfordshire Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery which took place in Biggleswade on Thursday evening (April 12).

The incident happened at around 7pm on common land close to Biggleswade United Football Club in Fairfield Road when the 14-year-old victim was listening to music on his Ipod. As he passed a group of teenagers who were stood near a silver car, one of them verbally abused him but the victim carried on walking. He was then struck by a stone and as he turned around he has been approached by two of the group who tried to take his mobile phone and assault him. The victim managed to escape the offenders and raise the alarm.

The offender who tried to take the victims mobile phone is described as black, with acne on his forehead, well built, wearing a black cap with the peak pointing upwards and a hooded top. The second offender was white, of slender build and also wore a cap with the peak pointing upwards, a white or grey hooded top and he had a fringe.

Detective Constable Lynn Adams, who is investigating the incident, is keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the attack or may have seen the offenders either before or after the attempted robbery took place.
