Steven Watkins, Biggleswade Town Councillor, Stratton Ward, is looking to hold a Councillor Surgery.
"Here is a question for your readers: Where and when would they like to see a councillor surgery? I think it is sensible to cater the venue and time/day to when people are around.
I look forward to hearing responses."

NOT in the Council offices! The library has a much under-used room upstairs that should be available at least one weekday and one Saturday morning that could be used by Councillors on a rota basis to represent each Ward - why just one of the Councillors?
ReplyDeleteI agree with the above question. Before moving to Biggleswade, I lived in quite a forward thinking city, where the three District Councillors of my particular electoral ward put party politics to one side, and held ward meetings at which all three attended to hear about issues from residents, as well as Council staff for the area not as elected individuals, but as elected ward members working together for the ward (not against each other to the detriment of the residents). OK, it sounds like an ideal, and it may well be that each claimed to come up with the solution to particular issues in their subsequent literature but it seemed to work quite well and things did get sorted. Could this happen in Biggleswade at Town Councillor level? or maybe with the CBC elected members too?
